   An act to amend Section 120 of the Metropolitan Water District Act
(Chapter 209 of the Statutes of 1969), relating to metropolitan
water districts.

   SB 554, as introduced, Kelley.  Metropolitan water districts.
   The Metropolitan Water District Act provides for the creation of
metropolitan water districts and grants to those districts the
authority to exercise powers that are necessary to carry out the
objects and purposes of the district.
   The bill would make technical, nonsubstantive changes in that
provision.
   Vote:  majority.  Appropriation:  no.  Fiscal committee:  no.
State-mandated local program:  no.


THE PEOPLE OF THE STATE OF CALIFORNIA DO ENACT AS FOLLOWS:


  SECTION 1.  Section 120 of the Metropolitan Water District Act
(Chapter 209 of the Statutes of 1969) is amended to read:
  Sec. 120. A district may exercise the powers  which
  that  are expressly granted by this act, together
with  such   those  powers  as
  that  are reasonably implied from the act and
necessary and proper to carry out the objects and purposes of the
district.
